TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Private Exchanges

Correctly configured and installed, a modern telephone exchange can be a great asset to your business and can dramatically reduce your phone bills. New capabilities and ‘intelligent’ features allow even the smallest concern to look like a multinational. At the same time it is possible to make best use of free and reduced-tariff services (e.g. Skype) - even for long distance and international calls. VoIP

Voice over IP (VoIP) allows voice calls to be made over Internet Protocol (IP) data networks, including the Internet. This relatively simple idea may not seem a big deal, but it is starting to revolutionise communications across the globe. Traditional ‘narrowband’ voice networks will soon be consigned to the history books and a new generation of data switches will reign supreme - at least until the next big idea comes along. One of the main differences between VoIP and standard telephone calls is that the distance of a call is almost irrelevant. Of far more significance is transmission quality, the type of service (e.g. audio, data, video) and the bandwidth required. Broadband

Access to the Internet over broadband is now regarded by some as a human right, but it may not always be simple to get the service you need at a price you can afford. Depending upon the location of the nearest digital exchange (or operator cable), it may be difficult or even impossible to secure a broadband connection.
