Multi Room Audio - the concept
We all like to listen to music, but we don’t (necessarily) all like to listen to the same music. So how can you keep the whole family relaxed and avoid those conflicts of taste? One possible solution is a multi-room audio system. By linking a number of components together and installing some listening ‘end points’ it is possible to pipe almost any audible content to any room of your house simultaneously. What you need...
You may already have several of the components you need for a multi-room audio solution. Anything that sends sound to a set of speakers or headphones (e.g. ipod, radio, satellite receiver) can be included. Typically, items of equipment will include:
- Floor and/or ceiling mounted speaker systems
- Wireless headphones
- Radio tuner/amplifier
- MP3 players (e.g. ipod)
- Satellite/cable television receiver
- Blu Ray/DVD player
- Media controller
